Ruby E. Harkey, 94, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012. Ruby was born in Chateaugay, N.Y., on March 14, 1918. As a child, she moved to California, where she graduated from high school. During World War II she worked for Douglas Aircraft and, on Oct. 24, 1943, she married Dick Harkey in Lynwood, Calif. She moved to Sagle, Idaho, in 1980 and has been a member of the Idaho Writers League since 1992. Ruby enjoyed bowling on leagues, fishing and doing craft work.

Ruby is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Clint and Patty Harkey in Sagle, Idaho; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dick Harkey; and two brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28, in Coffelts Funeral Chapel. Father Dennis C. Day, St Josephs Catholic Church, will officiate with burial in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to sign Rubys online guestbook at www.coffeltfuneral.com.
