He was a member of the Keavy Church of Christ where he preached and was an elder for many years.
His wife of 73 1/2 years, Polly Jane BAKER-BROWNING, preceded him in death.
His survivors included, 3 daughters; Edith Storm of Keavy, KY, Helen Forester of Harlan, KY, Julie Robinson of Louisville, KY; Two sons, James Browning of Cullman, Alabama, and Bill Browning of Keavy, KY. 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; 1 sister Gladys Browning of Harlan, KY; other family members and numerous friends and aquaintances. Brother Browning was one of the most respected, well liked individuals in the tri-county area. He will be greatly missed by many people.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2002 at the Keavy Church of Christ, with Brother Halli Burton Greer of Hazard, KY, Brother Bill R. Browning of Carmel, Indiana, and Brother Bob Forester of Harlan, KY officiating. Burial followed in the Locust Grove Cemetery at Keavy, Laurel County, KY.
