George V. Lenarz, age 93, of North Canton, passed away Saturday afternoon in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. George was born April 19, 1910, in Tuscarawas County, son to the late Theophulas and Catherine (Allenhouse) Lenarz. George was a former employee of the Repository retiring in 1972 after 30 years of service. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in North Canton, formerly active with Boy Scout Troop #129, member of Phi Sigma Chi men's group in Dover, Ohio and was an avid bowler. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, E. Charlotte Lenarz in 1999, after 65 years of marriage, two brothers, Alvin and Frank Lenarz, half brother, Carl Smith and half sister, Florence Roberts. Survivors include his devoted children; his son and daughter-in-law, Armand V. and Nancy Lenarz of North Canton; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra J. and Bill Findley of Waynesburg; four loving grandchildren, Jeffery V., Armand V. II, Dr. Michelle L. Lenarz and Micah S. Findley; and three loving great-grandchildren, Joshua V. Lenarz and Cole and Mikayla Findley; half brother and his spouse Bill and Helen Smith; sister-in-law, Dorothy Smith and brother-in-law, Paul Roberts. A special thank you is extended to Dr. R. Warburton and Dr. W. Fayen and the Staff at Heather Ridge and St. Luke's Lutheran Home for the special care and support they have shown over the years. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Sherwindt officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours will be held Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to St. Luke's Lutheran Home.
