Christopher M. Merola of Monticello, a longtime resident of the area, died Monday, October 24, 2011 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 28.

The son of Frank Merola and Margaret Gentile Merola, he was born May 14, 1983 in Long Island, NY.

Survivors include his loving parents: Frank & Margaret Merola of Monticello; a brother, Greg Merola (Sarah) of Ferndale; a sister, Tara Merola (Ruben) of Monticello; his uncles: Michael & Joseph Merola and Dominick & Louis Gentile; his aunt, Lisa Merola; nephews: Anthony McGrath, Brandon Cardona and Nathan Merola; a niece, Destany Merola; and many cousins and friends.

Friends and family may gather on Thursday, October 27 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral mass will be Friday, October 28 at 10am at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 10 Liberty Street, Monticello. Cremation will follow at Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY.
