Sally L. (Snowden) Cooper, 91, Mooresville, passed away at 4:40 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at her granddaughter's house surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Tuesday, March 30, 1920 in Wise County Virginia, to the late Charlie and Mary M. (Allen) Snowden.
On May 4, 1935 she married Roy B. Cooper, Sr. and he passed away on March 19, 2004.
Sally was a homemaker and her favorite thing to do was being a mom and grandmother. She also enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening.
Survivors are sons, Roy B. Cooper, Jr. and wife Zelda of Mooresville and Bill Helmick and wife Verna of Morgantown, West Virginia; daughters, Maggie Jessee and husband Roy of Mooresville, Wanda Kelley and husband Patrick of Greencastle and Annis Lewis and husband Walter of Florence, Alabama; 21 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 23 great great grandchildren; 4 great great great grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death is a son, Charles R. Cooper; brothers, Carl and Joseph Snowden; sisters, Lillie Hale, Hazel Blevins, Martha Taylor and Mary Blondell.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Costin Funeral Chapel with Pastor Lyman Taylor officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, November 4, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior the funeral service.
Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
