Albert Lindley Buford was the second son of Albert and Martha "Mattie" Bolling Rivers Buford of Wewahitchka FL (Gulf County). He married first Bertha Lee Hatton, daughter of Seaborn Lewis and Mary Jane "Mittie" Williams Hatton, on 7 DEC 1904, in Jackson County FL, and had three children with her. Bertha died on 20 JAN 1911, in Wewahitchka FL. She was most likely buried in Jehu Cemetery, Wewahitchka FL, though there is no grave monument for her there.

Albert Lindley married second Henrietta Priscilla Lyles, daughter of William and Sallie Elizabeth Lyles, on 31 DEC 1916, in Walker County GA, and had three children with her. In 1932, Albert Lindley Buford became Deputy Sheriff of Dade County FL. In the late 1940's, he was Chief of the Department of Criminal Investigation in Dade County FL.
