Gaylord L. Hoffman, age 96, of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Divine Nursing and Rehab at Shane Hill in Rockford, Ohio.


He was born September 21, 1927 in Van Wert County to the late Henry and Jessie (Bolenbaugh) Hoffman.


He married Doris M. (Garwood) Hoffman and she preceded him in death on January 10, 2018, they were together for 70 wonderful years.


Survivors include, a daughter, Linda Klingler, St. Marys; a son, Rick (Linda) Hoffman, Celina; a daughter-in-law, Judy Hoffman, Ansonia, Ohio; a sister, Gladys Agler, Van Wert; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.


He was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Hoffman; a daughter, Tammy Hoffman; son-in-law, Jim Klingler; a grandson; and a great grandson.


He was a 1945 graduate of Ohio City Liberty High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the WWII era. He retired after working for 40 plus years at Reynolds and Reynolds in Celina.


He attended Celina First Church of God, and was a member of the Celina VFW. Post #5713 and Celina American Legion Post # 210.


Funeral services will begin at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 in the Cisco Funeral Home of Celina, with Rev. Matt Overman officiating; where the family will receive friends from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm prior to the funeral. Gaylord was not a dress up guy, so put on your favorite pair of jeans, and come celebrate his life with us.


Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina, Ohio; where military rites will be conducted by Celina American Legion Post #210 and Celina VFW Post #5713.
