From Thurston Genealogies, Second Edition, compiled by Brown Thurston, 1892, page 16:
John Thurston was the son of Daniel and Mary (Dresser) Thurston of Newbury, Massachusetts. He was born there June 12, 1692 and married when he was forty years of age to Dorothy Woodman on May 17, 1732. She was born 1703, daughter of Joshua and Mehitable (Wicomb) Woodman of Newburyport, Mass. He died May 27, 1751, aged 59 (gravestone at Newbury). She died Oct. 27, 1773, aged 68.
He kept possession of the homestead of his father and grandfather in Newbury. His will bears date 23 days before his death, from which we get the names of his children. They were all minors, as there was an interval of only nineteen years between his marriage and death. (for his will see 1st edition, page 30). Children:
(1) Mehitable - born about 1733, baptized August 15, 1734; married David Coats.
(2) Mary - born 1737; married William Stickney.
(3) Judith - married March 24, 1784 to Daniel Balch.
(4) Hannah - born about 1740 and married Edmund Adams.
(5) John - born 1744; married Eunice Dole.
(6) Benjamin - born 1746; married Jane McKnight.
(7) Patience - died without issue.
