Joseph P. Brown "So True Brown," of Tinbridge Manor Apartment #307, departed this life in the early morning hours of July 15, 2007, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born May 8, 1928 to the late Joseph and Della Brown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Josephine Jones, Marion Wilson and Emily Jackson; two nephews, Earl and Joseph Brown; three nieces, Linda Poindexter, Jacqueline Rankin and Diann Robinson.

He leaves to mourn his passing, a devoted daughter, Pauline Jackson; two sons, Ronnie Hall and Jerry Hall Sr. (Ruth); three devoted granddaughters, Olivia Hall, Michelle Hall and Dianna Sidi; five grandsons, Jerry Hall Jr., Darryl Green, Tim Hall, Ronald Hunter and Rodney Sihlangu; two adopted daughters, Sarah Peerman and Wanda Bolling; six nieces, Joyce Dawson (Richard), Veronica Green (Kenneth), Shirley Donigan, Delores Cox (Eugene), Cynthia Covington (Howie), all of Lynchburg, and Sarah Trent (Lloyd), of N.C.; four devoted nephews, Norvell Brown, James Wilson, Howard Brown, all of Lynchburg, and David Ross (Jackie), of Madison Heights; a devoted friend, Doreatha Brisco; a long time friend of many years, Betty Wilson; family friend, Dorothy Knoth; and a host of great nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2007, at Fifth Street Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joseph D. Moore officiating. Interment will be in the Baptist Cemetery. His remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. The family is receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at Community Funeral Home and other times at 301 Federal St. The cortege will assemble at 301 Federal Street.
