Rev. Thomas Avery Warren, Jr., age 86, of Morganton, GA passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in the Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA.

Rev. Warren was born in Robbinsville, NC on February 26, 1925 to the late Thomas Avery Warren, Sr. and Hattie Mae Green Warren.

He served as an ordained minister for over 35 years and pastored at Harmony Baptist Church and Union Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Warren was a member of Concord Baptist Church.

He was a World War II combat veteran having served in the United States Army. Rev. Warren was preceded in death by a son, Michael Avery Warren in 1991.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva W. Warren of Morganton, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Don Harper of Morganton, GA and Carolyn and Don Miller of Blue Ridge, GA; seven grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, October 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from Concord Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Stewart and Rev. Greg Long officiating. Music was by Sharon Pack and Robert Buchanan. Pallbearers were James Grice, Tim Grice, Shaun Bath, Jesse Miller, Marc Miller, and Stephen Miller. Honorary pallbearers were Don Miller, Don Harper, and Scott Cruse. Interment followed in Concord Church Cemetery with full military honors by North Georgia Honor Guard.
