Services for Windel B. Marshall, age 70, of Tyler are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Friendly Baptist Church with the Rev. Pat Alvey, the Rev. Dale Perry and the Rev. Milton Gardner officiating.

Burial will be in Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Windel went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011. Windel was in a single-car accident around 3 a.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene. He is survived by a loving family including three daughters, Winde Marshall of McKinney, Mande Young and husband Tim of Frisco and Misty Miller and husband Mark, also of Frisco; grandchildren, Evan Miller, Chloe Young and Caden Young; and his mother, Mildred Marshall of Tyler.

Born in Commerce, Windel moved to Tyler at the age of 10, and was in the first graduating class of John Tyler High School in 1959. After high school, Windel attended Tyler Junior College and then went on to University of Houston Pharmacy School. Early in his career he worked at Carpenter-Francis, and then owned and operated Southland Pharmacy from 1973 to 1995. Windel was a lifelong member of Friendly Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He married Marion Pierce Marshall in 1995. They enjoyed life together! They loved going to sporting events, sharing delicious meals and traveling. Some of Windel's fondest memories were of trips they took together. Highlights include an Alaskan cruise, and a trip to the Holy Land - the experience of his lifetime. Windel's wife, Marion, passed away in January of this year, eight years after suffering a brain aneurism. We rejoice in knowing he is reunited with her, whole and healthy, in heaven.

Windel was a lifelong Cardinals fan, and seeing his two favorite teams play in the World Series just a few weeks ago was a dream come true. He was thrilled when his beloved "Cards" won the series!

Pallbearers will be Gary Easterling, Coy Dodd, Randy Duke, Dennis Thornton, Mike Hymer and Steve Sherwood. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Paul Class of Friendly Baptist Church.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway in Tyler.

Memorials in honor of Windel B. Marshall may be made to Friendly Baptist Church, 1903 E. Front St., Tyler, 75701.
