She later married Verlon Barron on April 27, 1996, in Anton. She worked as a secretary at Citizens State Bank in Anton for 13 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Anton.
A daughter, Allison Lynette Bennett, died in August 1988.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Sharon Groves of Oklahoma City, Karen Comer of Anton and Susan Thorne of Dalhart; two stepsons, Wayne Barron of Anton and Don Barron of Overton; a stepdaughter, Lorna Brazil of Anton; two sisters; three brothers; three stepsisters; a stepbrother; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
