Irvine, Ky., Oct 20 - Mrs. Sarah Watts Owen, 87, widow of S.T. Owen, died at 4:30 pm today here at the home of a son, D.V. Owen, Sr., following a long illness. A native of Clark county, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Lucinda Adams Watts. She was a member of the First Methodist church of Winchester for more than 60 years.
Surviving are four sons, Dillon Owen, Lexington; Hunt and Charlie Owen, both of Winchester and D.V. Owen, Irvine; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday at the Scobee funeral home at Winchester by the Rev. J. Lester McGee, pastor of the First Methodist church there, and the Rev. Floyd D. Rose, Lexington. Pallbearers will be D.V. Owen, Jr., John Eklin, Luther Brandenburg, Nelson Pace, Dan Insko and Roy Watts. Honorary bearers will be members of the Board of Stewards of the First Methodist Church.
