He was in the Army during World War II, serving as a paratrooper in the Battle of the Bulge.
Chuck worked for the Wichita Falls ISD where he was the tennis coach at Wichita Falls High School from 1953-1974 and Hirschi High School from 1976-1985. During this time, he was also the tennis coach at Zundy and Reagan Junior High for many years and one year was the tennis coach at both Wichita Falls High School and Rider High School at the same time. He was then tennis coach at Midwestern State University for three years.
He was the head tennis professional at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth from 1974-1976. He taught tennis to thousands of people in Wichita Falls and the North Texas area. He was also the tennis professional at Weeks Park Tennis Center in the 1950s and 1960s.
He was inducted into the Texas High School Tennis Coaches Hall of Fame in 1985 and later the Texas Tennis Hall of Fame in 1994.
Chuck was equally known for his strong love for watching local sporting events in virtually every sport. He encouraged countless student athletes during the past 50 years.
Chuck was a member of Grace Church in Wichita Falls.
