Grandpa was the husband of Alma Frances Gettings Hammond. Together they had 7 children 3 boys and 4 girls. Grandpa stood 6'6" and his wife barely stood 5'1" Grandpa was a farmer with several hundred heads of cattle and just as many pigs. He also grew and housed tobacco. He was a jack of all trades. There was nothing that he could not build, repair or figure out. This is something that he taught all of his children. His girls could roof a house just as good as his boys. He was a wonderful man who is dearly missed and loved.
