Stephanie M. Alexander, 24, of Alma passed away Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a 1997 graduate of Greenwood High School, a 2002 graduate of Arkansas Tech University with a bachelor's of arts degree, worked four summers for Inland Container and was the recipient of the Inland Container International Scholarship Award and had the opportunity to spend a summer in Italy. She was a law student at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, a member of Beta Club and National Honor Society, and the office manager for Valuelinx Co. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers Leamon Atkins on Sept. 22, 1993, Lloyd T. Hatfield on Aug. 23, 2000, and Laurence Alexander on Dec. 11, 2002. Services were held Wednesday at Butterfield Assembly of God in Van Buren with burial at Steep Hill Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Gayla and James Hatfield of Alma; her father and stepmother, David and Donna Alexander of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Lorra Taylor of Greenwood and Sabra Leigh of Alma; one brother, Seth Thomas of Alma; her grandmothers, Lucille Atkins of Spiro, Alena Alexander of Fort Smith, and Dorothy Hatfield of Van Buren; one niece, Allyson Taylor; and one nephew, David Taylor. Pallbearers were Robert Malenshek, Marcus Thompson, Michael Harber, Scott Clark, Wes Milam and Shawn Hutchins. Honorary pallbearers were be Bo Daniel, Robbie Kohler and Kelly Foster.
