Willard Brooks, prominent farmer of the Kinser community, died Sunday morning at 2:15 o'clock at his home where he had been ill for the past several weeks.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the Kingston Church of Christ. Tillett S. Teddlie, minister of the Johnson St. Church of Christ officiated and interment was in McWright cemetery.

Pallbearers were Charley Freeman, Clyde Freeman, Elbert Freeman, Jr., Herbert Freeman, J.G. Freeman and Billie Thomas Freeman.

The arrangements were in charge of Stringer-Elliott Funeral Home.

A native of Illinos, Mr. Brooks was born February 16, 1863. He came to Texas with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Almon Brooks at the age of sixteen years and located in Dallas. Five years later he came to Greenville and located in the Kinser community and had long been identified as one of the most progressive citizens in that section. He held the confidence and esteem of a wide circle of friends.

He was married to Miss Mary Freeman in 1890 and to this union nine children were born.

Surviving are his wife, six children, Mrs. Joe Bowers, Miss Margia Brooks, C.M. Brooks, E.F. Brooks, T.H. Brooks, and T.L. Brooks, two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Hood, Paducah, and Mrs. J.S. DeFee, Dallas, fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Three children preceded him in death.

Last rites were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Kingston Church of Christ for Willard Brooks, well known farmer of the Kinser community who died Sunday morning at his home where he had been ill for the past several weeks.
