An obituary published in the Shelbyville Democrat on May 8, 1913 for Mrs. Mary J. Kreig, wife of Lawrence Kreig, stated she had died at her home, near Duvall on May 2. Surviving were seven children and two sisters. The daughters were Mrs. J. F. Reeder, Mrs. Sallie Coleman, Mrs. John Ames and Miss Pearl Kreig, the youngest daughter who had taken care of Mrs. Kreig for many years. The sons were C. E. Kreig, B. P. Kreig, and B. L. Kreig. The sisters were not named.
