William Fredrick McGinnis, 80, Star Route, Eldon, died Thursday morning, Sept. 4, 1980 at his home. He was born Oct. 23, 1899 in Morgan
County, a son of the late Charles and Mary Ellen Gerlt McGinnis.
He was married on Dec. 4, 1922 to Hyla Need, who preceded him in death on March 31, 1973.
Mr. McGinnis was a retired farmer.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Judith Allen, of Eldon; one son, William Buck McGinnis, Eldon; three brothers, Seth McGinnis, Gravois Mills, Bess McGinnis, Prescott, Kan., and Venson McGinnis, Eldon; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Conner, Edwardsville, Kan. And Mrs. Julia Curtis and Mrs. Hattie Way, both of Lebanon; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Jennie Chipley.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles, with the Rev. Gene Cain officiating. Burial was in the Versailles Cemetery.
