Forest B. Peters, age 91, resident of Shiloh, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Hillside Acres Nursing Home. He was born on February 18, 1920 in Ottoville, Ohio to the late Henry and Mary (Sherry) Peters. Mr. Peters worked on the Pennsylvania Railroad until WWII where he served in the US Army Air Corp. Afterwards, he worked for the B& O in the Willard Railroad Yard. He retired in 1995 from the Carpenters Union in Norwalk. Forest was a farmer, a member of the American Legion, a Bloominggrove Township Trustee, a central committee man for the republican party and was a member of the College Hill United Church of Christ and was a past Sunday school superintendant.

He is survived by one daughter, Judy (Don) Lichoff of Willard; one son, Curtis (Nancy) Peters of Florida; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vernice Peters whom he married on January 16, 1943; one daughter, Linda McQuillen; two brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call on Monday, November 7, 2011 at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Pastor David Detwiler officiating.
