Ethel Morrison, 97, a resident of Everton, died Tuesday, July 7 (2008) at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at Holt Memorial Chapel.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, at the Beckham Church with Minister Tim Bartlow officiating. Burial will be at Beckham Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ethel was born near Everton on April 21, 1911, a daughter of John Lee and Essie Lee (Trublood) Vanzant. She was a homemaker whose hobbies were quilting and gardening. A warm, hospitable person, she never met a stranger and especially enjoyed serving food to family and friends. She was a charter member of Beckham Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude D. Morrison; a son, Jimmy Joe Morrison; a grandson, Jimmy Leroy Morrison; son-in-law, Callaway Lowery; a sister; and five brothers.
Survivors include her daughters, Margie Lee Lowery and Erma Jean Matthews and her husband, Guy; daughter-in-law, Sandra Morrison; brother, John Kermit Vanzant; sister, Merle Phillips; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Beckham Cemetery Fund, c/o Sharon Williams, Marion County 2049, Everton, Ark. 72633.
