David "Dave" Murray, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Springfield, MA to the late Frank B. and Margaret M. (Walsh) Murray. Dave graduated from Springfield Trade School in 1960 and attended Springfield Technical Community College for 2 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 293 acting as Commander for 3 years out of his 26 year membership. In 1977 Dave founded and was the owner of Colonial Auto Service, East Longmeadow. He is survived by his 2 sons, Brian Murray of East Longmeadow, Daniel Murray and his wife Kim of Wilbraham; his daughter, Kim Murray of East Longmeadow; his 6 grandchildren, Anthony, Stephanie, Nicole, Calli, Jenna, Brenden; his 3 brothers, Frank B. Murray of Ludlow, Gregory Murray and his wife Dee of Chicopee, Mark Murray of Springfield; his 2 sisters, Margaret Murray of West Hartford, CT, Christine Fletcher and her husband Stephen of Enfield, CT, his former wives, Patricia (Merriam) Murray and Shirley Porter. Family and friends are welcome to attend calling hours on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow, MA.
