Charlotte married Franklin Armenta on August 11, 1953 and had had two boys.
On October 3, 1956 she married Melvin Laverne Johnson, Sr. and the two of them produced a boy and a girl.
Charlotte was an independent woman and always worked. For the majority of her life, she drove passenger bus. She was very proud of the fact that she was the first female driver hired at the largest school district in Washington, the Edmond's School District.
Melvin and Charlotte moved the family to Yakima in 1970 and "Geri", as she preferred to be called, ultimately went to work for the Yakima Transit System as a driver, where she retired early in 1987, two years before passing on from lung cancer.
