Seward R. Wilcox, 62, of 11 Chowan Drive, Portsmouth, retired Norfolk Naval Air Station carpenter, died Friday in a hospital.
A native of Douglas , Ga., he lived in Portsmouth 27 years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was a son of James M. and Lavinia "Vina" Browning Wilcox. Devoted husband of Nannie Jane Youmans Wilcox who passed away in 1968.
He and his wife moved from Georgia during the great depression to make a better life in Portsmouth, Virginia and lived there until their deaths. They had no children. They were both brought back to Georgia for burial.
