NAPOLEON, N.D. - Hundreds of people from towns, hamlets and farms throughout North Dakota paid last tribute here Sunday to O. F. Bryant, long-time Napoleon newspaper publisher who died last Thursday.
Rev. G. W. Stewart, pastor of the Mandan Presbyterian church remembered Mr. Bryant in his sermon as a man beloved by many and who devoted a large share of his life to service. Reviewing briefly Mr. Bryant's career, he noted how much he had done to build for the betterment of his own community and that of his state and country.
Members of the Masonic lodge at Oakes, of which Mr. Bryant was a member, officiated at graveside rites. Present from Fargo was Grand Master Naylor of the North Dakota Masons. Members of the Bismarck commandery, of which Bryant was a member headed by John A. Graham, served as an honorary escort.
Mr. Bryant succumbed to a heart attack last Thursday night after several months of illness. He had been publisher of the Napoleon Homestead since 1894.
