U.S. Congressman. MacIntyre was as a member of the State house of representatives in 1849. He served as a Colonel of the Confederate Army's 11th Infantry, Georgia Guards during the Civil War. He was elected as a U.S. Representative from Georgia from 1871 to 1873.

The MacIntyre family marker stands 15 to 20 feet tall and has MacIntyre names on all four sides. This monument is on the Eastern section of the cemetery near the highway.
