U.S. Congressman. MacIntyre was as a member of the State house of representatives in 1849. He served as a Colonel of the Confederate Army's 11th Infantry, Georgia Guards during the Civil War. He was elected as a U.S. Representative from Georgia from 1871 to 1873.
