Marilen J. Prescott, 71, a lifelong resident of Mansfield passed away on Wednesday March 10, 2010 at the Harrington House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Walpole.

Born in Taunton, MA on June 14, 1938 she was a loving daughter of the late Lenox J. and Mary B. (Bedwin) Prescott.

Marilen grew up in Mansfield, was educated in Mansfield schools and was a 1956 graduate of Mansfield High School.

Prior to retiring she had been employed for over 15 years as a Computer Operator for the Georgia Pacific Co. in Bellingham and had previously worked for 25 years as a insurance claims processor at the New England Security Insurance Agency in Mansfield.

Marilen was a member of the Central Congregational Church in Attleboro where she also taught Sunday School. She was an avid pianist and when younger had the opportunity to play piano at Symphony Hall.

She loved the ocean, trips to Cape Cod and Marthas Vineyard and the tranquility of sailing. Her other hobbies included painting, crafts, reading knitting but her happiest times spent where those in the presence of her cherished nieces and nephews.

Burial will follow in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield.
