William H. [Packy] Doyle, 79, of 7130 Cyril av., a retired captain of the Chicago police
department, died yesterday in the Monticello Convalescent home, 6300 W. 95th st.,
Oak Lawn. He retired from the force June 19, 1947, after 36 years as a policeman.
Born in Chicago, Mr. Doyle served mostly in south side districts.
He was elected president of the Chicago Police Captains association in 1944.
He received numerous citations for meritorious work.Surviving are his widow,Edna M.;
a son, William J., and two grandchildren.Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. Thursday
in St. Philip Neri Catholic church, 2132 E. 72d st.
