Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Craig Pipkin and the Rev. John Dodd, were held Monday, November 10, 2008 at Central Presbyterain Church. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Tisdale Cemetery. Mrs. Phillips was born July 6, 1923 in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Edith Gertrude McCullough Brown and Herbert McGill Brown, Sr. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School, and worked at home as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Emery Smith, and her second husband, Jack Phillips. Survivors are: her children, Patricia Cribb Martin (Harry) of Kingstree; Genevieve Gamble (Stanley) of Moncks Corner; Emily Faye Strong (Tommy Kinard), James Miles "Jimmy" Phillips (Pam) and George Phillips (Dale), all of Kingstree; one brother, Ed Brown of Kingstree; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren
