Eula Eva Hatcher, 92, of Beckley, formerly of Streeter, died at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at Heartland of Beckley nursing home following a long illness.

Born Aug. 2, 1908, in Streeter, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Lucy Ann Pack Basham.

Mrs. Hatcher was a lifelong resident of Summers and Raleigh counties. She was a member of Rhoda Ann Memorial Baptist Church, Streeter, and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kennard Guy Hatcher; a grandson, Kenneth Paul Hatcher; two sisters, Grace Eastridge and Lillie Halstead; and five brothers, Earl, Guy, Finley, Oris and Ray Basham.

Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Guy L. Hatcher; a daughter, Francine Combs and her husband, Russ, of Oak Hill; four grandchildren, Sharon Young and her husband, Wayne, of Saxon, Russell Combs and his wife, Caren, of Beckley, Cynthia Hatcher of Mullens and Randy Hatcher and his wife, Donna, of Charlotte, N.C.; 11 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dollie Pack of Rainelle; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 4 p.m. Friday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel, Hinton, with Pastor Danny Winders officiating.

Burial will follow in Vest Cemetery, at Streeter.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
