Craig was born in and grew up in Munising, Michigan. He worked for the Alger Maximum Security Corrections Facility.
He is survived by his parents, Dennis and Pam Fleck of Munising; sister Erin Fleck of Appleton, WI; grandfather, Ray Becker of Munising; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other beloved family members and friends.
Craig found the love of his life in Sally Ann Paajanen. The following came from a card he gave her before he died:
For My Valentine - Our love was meant to be.
We came together, you and I, beneath the stars above -
What started out as "liking" soon developed into love...
And now I know exactly what my heart's created for-
To hold the love I feel for you, today and evermore.
