CHARLTON HEIGHTS - Franchessca Nichole Martin, 16, of Charlton Heights, W.Va., died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003, in Women and Children's Hospital in Charleston.

She was born January 2, 1987, in Charleston and was the daughter of Joe Bill Martin and Cynthia Christian Morris. She was a junior at Valley High School in Smithers, where she was a member of the girls softball team and drama club. She was also a member of the Upper Kanawha Valley softball team.

Surviving are her parents, Joe Bill Martin of Gauley Bridge, and her mother and step-father, Cynthia and Roland Morris of Charlton Heights; sister, Jessica Martin at home; stepbrothers, Zachary Morris at home and Jason Morris, stationed with the U.S. Air Force at Warner-Robbins Air Force Base in Georgia; grandparents, Harry and Betty Martin of Gauley Bridge, Dixie Christian of Charleston and Ted Christian of Morgantown, W.Va.; step-grandparents, Roland and Dessie Morris of Lizemores, W.Va.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with the Rev. Fred Christian officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
