Mr. Raymond P. Beshears, age 78, of Parsons Drive, North Wilkesboro, died Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Villages of Wilkes Skilled Care. Mr. Beshears was born August 7, 1933 in Wilkes County to Edward H. and Maddy Clyde Miller Beshears. He was a US Navy Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Beshears was of the Baptist Faith; a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion. He was with General Motors in the Cadillac Division for 30 years. Mr. Beshears was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James A. Farley Beshears; and a half brother, Allen Beshears.

Surviving are his brother, Charles "Chuck" Beshears and wife Carol of Wilkesboro; three sisters, Shirley Miller of Lenoir, Geraldine Callicutt and husband Ronnie of Thomasville, Christine Evans and husband Robert of Badin Lake; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 3:00 o'clock Monday, November 7, 2011 at Yellow Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Brady Hayworth officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Yellow Hill Baptist Church from 2:00 until 3:00 o'clock on Monday, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Yellow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Kathy Foster, 5733 Summit Road, Purlear, NC 28665. Miller Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers will be Brad Beshears, Bruce Beshears, Jim Beshears, Michael Beshears, Bob Reed, and Buck Parsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Gurney Richardson and Hartley Beshears.
