Kill at the Mission San Antonio de Valero (Battle of the Alamo). Son of Joseph and Martha Jones (Glasgow) Scurlock.

Mial Scurlock was born to Joseph and Martha Jones (Glasgow) Scurlock.

He was a land owner with slaves and lived in both Tennessee and Mississippi. (I am not proud of that, but I want the biography to be correct.) In 1834 he and his brother William relocated and settled in San Augustine, Texas where they were farmers. He had been given a land grant to Texas that was at that time a part of Mexico.

He volunteered to serve in the Texas army on October 17, 1835, as there were land disputes between Texas and Mexico. He fought in the seige of Bexar and perished at the Battle of the Alamo.
