Beula Mae (Robertson) Jessie, age 71

Daughter of:
Leskar and Nola Mae (Coffey) Robertson.

Wife of:
Robert Lee Jessie

In the afternoon of Saturday, November 5, 2011, she completed her earthly journey to meet her Heavenly Father with her husband, her daughter, Cheryl and grandchildren, Emily and Ellen surrounding her at her home.

Those first moments were so precious, to think she stepped from this life with those who love her into Heaven greeted by others who loved her and welcomed her home.

In 1959 she married the love of her life, Robert Jessie. They started their life together and in a few years their dream came true when they became parents of a precious baby girl, Cheryl. Beula sang "Now I Have Everything" over and over to that baby girl. Several years passed and another baby was born, Cindy, and that completed their little family. They were happy and enjoyed life abundantly.

She worked at Ben Franklin and Kentucky Pants Factory for several years and became a homemaker after she had her daughter Cheryl. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Over the years she did several jobs to bring in extra money and be able to stay home with her children and grandchildren. Some of those jobs included ironing for others, house cleaning, baking cakes, selling makeup and Stanley products, working private duty and raising Chihuahua puppies.

She was a cheerful loving friend to everyone who was blessed to call her their friend. She never met a stranger and loved being around people. If she was your friend, you had a friend for life. She was what a true friend really is.

She loved to sing. That was her life's dream to sing. God granted that dream for a little while and she sang with a gospel group. Somehow, I believe she's singing for the Lord now and her real dream is a reality.

She enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren who were the light of her life. She was a praying mother and grandmother and always kept her family in her prayers. She prayed often with her daughter Cheryl and this was a treasured time on many occasions for both of them.

She loved children and was a babysitter who was loved by many children and their families over the years.

She was saved in July of 1951 at Big Meadow Baptist Church. She soon after joined Dripping Springs Baptist church and was baptized. In later years She and Robert joined Grider Memorial Baptist Church and she served as Sunday School teacher for many years for the young children. they moved their membership to Beech Grove Baptist Church and remained faithful members there.

Survivors:
Her husband: Robert; two daughters: Cheryl Brooks and husband, Terry, and Cindy Martin and husband, Joey; five grandchildren: Erica, Emily and Ellen Denny, Dylan and Grayson Martin; one sister: Betty Harper (Jerry); one brother-in-law: James "Jimmy" Ragle; one sister-in-law: Margaret Robertson; several nieces and nephews; one granddaughter of her heart: Jessica Britt and a host of extended family and loving friends.

Jessica sang and played the piano at her funeral and somehow, maybe God let Beula hear her singing. She loved to hear Jessica play the piano. Her daughter Cheryl, and granddaughters, Erica and Ellen also sang at the funeral some of her favorite songs. One of those included "Now I Have Everything". This completed the circle for this song in the life together that Beula and her daughter Cheryl had.

Predeceased by:
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister: Lillian Frances Ragle and two brothers: Henry Dale Robertson and Ray Dillard Robertson and his wife Sharon.

Services
Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with her pastor, Brother David McKinney officiating.

Tribute:
If you could see me now you wouldn't shed a tear, Though you may not understand why I'm no longer there. Remember my spirit, that is the real me because I'm still very much alive, I've just been set free. Oh, if you could only see!

I have held our Father's face and I've touched my Savior's hand. All of Heaven's angels rejoiced as I entered the promised land. Beyond the gates of pearl I've walked on the golden streets.

I've touched the walls of jasper and dipped my foot in the crystal sea. The beauty is beyond words and nothing could compare, I've even seen our Lords mansion and someday I'll meet you there. Let Jesus be your guide because "His Word" will show you the way. So please don't cry because we will meet again someday.
