Mike Fayard was a life-long resident of D'Iberville, MS. Was member of the first DHS Football team. Graduated class of 1955. Joined the MS National Guard (631st AFA Bn) before graduation, married his high school sweetheart Peggy Barnes, transferred to the Active Army. He went into the Army Security Agency then to the Army Signal Corps. He was a Vietnam veteran, stationed at CuChi, RVN with the 25th Inf Div, Co A 125th Signal Bn. He filled in as 1SG and SGM while with the 125th and 8th Signal Bns, and also while assigned to USA STRATCOM (Hancock Field, Syracuse, NY). He retired from the Army as MSG after 20 years, then worked at the Biloxi VA and retired from there. Mike and Peggy have 5 children (Robert, Michael, Twila, Mark, and Amber).
