Son of Larse Agesen (also spelled Aakessen) and Ingrid Svensdotter (also spelled Svenssen), both of Sweden.
Married Irish immigrant Nora nee Shannon in late 1920 or early 1921, mostly likely in the state of New York. She was the daughter of Simon R. Shannon and Honoria (aka Honor) nee Finn, both of County Sligo, Ireland.
Bernard and Nora issued 2 known children: Bernard Thomas Aagesen (1921-1993), and Eleanor Mae Aagesen (1926-2014).

Bernard served in WWI as a Pvt with the 53rd Infantry, Med Dept, 6th of NY.
His WWI registration card states he was tall with medium build,
gray eyes and blonde hair.

Bernard died in Chester, Orange Co, NY in 1931 at 36 years old.
Nora died in DeKalb Co, Georgia in 1959 at 72 years old.
