Nancy served briefly in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) at Fort McClellan, Alabama. She was very proud of her time in the US Army.
For two decades, until 1989, she was employed by Western Union Telegraph Company - first in Syracuse, New York, as a teletype operator, and then in Moorestown, Burlington County, New Jersey, where she worked for many years in recording/transmitting operations. After the NJ facility (CTB) closed in August 1989, she returned to the Syracuse area.
Nancy is fondly remembered for her strong work ethic and her generous and kind nature.
While in New Jersey, Nancy shared her home at Pickwick Apartments in Maple Shade with her dearly beloved cat.
Nancy was predeceased by her mother, Eldred E. Casey, in 1990. Her father, Francis Patrick Casey Sr., passed away in 2009.
Surviving are two sisters, one brother, two nieces and two nephews.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Gates Funeral Home in Baldwinsville. Burial and services were private.
