Abita Springs, La. - Graveside services for Carolyn Addison, 77, of Abita Springs, were held on Friday, October 17, 2008 at Forest Park Cemetery East, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport. Mrs. Addison was born on June 20, 1931 in El Dorado, Arkansas, and entered into rest on October 13, 2008. She was the only child of William F. and Birdelle Gorman Addison. Carolyn grew up in Shreveport, and attended C. E. Byrd High School, where she graduated with many academic honors, and attended Girls State. She attended LSU in Baton Rouge, in the post-WWII era, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She graduated with honors from LSU-Shreveport with a degree in Journalism. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Pelican Chapter. Mrs. Addison is survived by three children: Patrick Lee Tomlinson and Becky Tomlinson Moppert, both of Baton Rouge, and Michael Holmes Tomlinson of Abita Springs. Also survived by five grandchildren: Trish Ballew, Liam Moppert, Ian Moppert, Olivia Moppert, and Emma Moppert, and two great-grandchildren.
