Stove That Exploded
Mrs. Mary E. Turpin, of 682 South Second Street, Steelton, who was severely burned about the face, arms and body last Saturday at her home when a gasoline stove over which she was working exploded, died this morning at 12:35 o'clock, at the Harrisburg Hospital from her injuries.
The accident occurred last Saturday morning about 11:30 o'clock while Mrs. Turpin was preparing dinner. Although several attempts were made to extinguish the blaze she was horribly burned. After her wounds were dressed by a physician she was removed to the hospital. She was fifty years of age and is survived by a family. [Patriot News - August 20, 1910]
