Kay Lease Apperson, 49, of Fredericksburg died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at her residence.

She was a member of Falmouth Baptist Church, where she served as a deacon. She had worked with the G.A.'s and the youth and had served as youth director. She also had served as a Sunday school teacher.

She was a graduate of Johnston Willis School of Nursing and MCV School of Nursing. She was currently the school nurse at Riverview Elementary School.

Survivors include her husband, David Apperson of the home; two daughters, Carrie A. Apperson of Spotsylvania and Alicia M.A. Cox and her husband, Christopher, of Fredericksburg; one grandson, Austin Douglas Cox of Fredericksburg; her mother, Rose Lease of Falmouth; one sister, Terri Gray of Falmouth; one brother, Michael Lease of Falmouth; three nieces, Kristine Converse, Chelsea Lease and Ashleigh Payne, all of Falmouth; and one nephew, Ricky Gray of Radford College.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Falmouth Baptist Church, with the Rev. Leslie A. Powers officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Tom Hoover, Linwood Bourne, Earl Stevenson, Ray Bishop, Travis Berry and Dickie Ballard.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

Memorials may be made to Falmouth Baptist Church Youth and G.A. Mission Camps, 302 Colonial Ave., Falmouth, Va. 22405.
