Alice D. Amos, formerly of South Sandusky Avenue, Upper Sandusky, died at 12:10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at the Wyandot County Nursing Home, where she had been residing. She was 91. Born in Gallia County on April 26, 1912, she was a daughter of William Louis and Louisa E. (Shenefield) McFarland. She married Henry Amos on Dec. 20, 1930, in Vinton County. He died Aug. 16, 1982. Surviving are a son, Paul, Upper Sandusky; four grandchildren, Christine Stewart, Marseilles; Linda Wolf, Auburn, Ind.; and David and Jeff Amos, both of Upper Sandusky; and seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Arthur; a brother, Wallace McFarland; and three sisters, Flossie Oiler, Madge Grover and Louise McFarland. Mrs. Amos was a homemaker. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and was known for making Christmas fudge. The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Elsholtz officiating. **Burial will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery, Brush Ridge. Visitation is Thursday from 12-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
