Alice Amos
Alice D. Amos, formerly of South Sandusky Avenue, Upper Sandusky, died at 12:10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at the Wyandot County Nursing Home, where she had been residing. She was 91. Born in Gallia County on April 26, 1912, she was a daughter of William Louis and Louisa E. (Shenefield) McFarland. She married Henry Amos on Dec. 20, 1930, in Vinton County. He died Aug. 16, 1982. Surviving are a son, Paul, Upper Sandusky; four grandchildren, Christine Stewart, Marseilles; Linda Wolf, Auburn, Ind.; and David and Jeff Amos, both of Upper Sandusky; and seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Arthur; a brother, Wallace McFarland; and three sisters, Flossie Oiler, Madge Grover and Louise McFarland. Mrs. Amos was a homemaker. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and was known for making Christmas fudge. The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Elsholtz officiating. **Burial will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery, Brush Ridge. Visitation is Thursday from 12-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Wyandot County Home activity fund or the Wyandot Health Foundation in care of Lucas Funeral Home, PO Box 207, Upper Sandusky OH 43351.
