Daniel Bath, age 85, of Loveland, Colorado, died Saturday, March 8, 2003, at home.Daniel was born November 18, 1917, in Loveland the son of Jacob Henry Bath and Mary (Stroh) Bath. He married Bessie Wetzbarger on June 14, 1947 in St. Francis, Kansas.He was a lifetime resident of Loveland except during his service in World War II.He was an Army private in the 168th Field Artillery where he earned the World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, American Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Service Star. He worked as a truck driver for A. S. Horner Construction Company in Littleton, Colorado retiring in 1982. He helped reconstruct the bridges in the Big Thompson canyon after the 1976 flood.He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, life member of the VFW Post 41, member of the Teamsters Union 13, and he was a HODAR (husband of a DAR). He enjoyed gardening and yard work. He enjoyed tinkering with his well. He also enjoyed his grandchildren.His wife, Bessie Bath of Loveland, CO; son, Steven Bath and his wife Jenny of Loveland, CO; brothers, Henry "Chick" Bath of Loveland, CO and Manuel Bath and his wife Rose of Evans, CO; sister, Hannah Zimmerman of Loveland, CO; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren survive him.His parents and four brothers and four sisters preceded him.A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Allnutt Funeral Service/Hunter Chapel in Loveland. Interment will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 12, 2003 from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. at Allnutt Funeral Service/Hunter Chapel.Contributions may be made to Hospice of Larimer County in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 2100 N. Lincoln Avenue, Loveland, CO.
