Mrs. Margaret Morgan Smith of Shrewsbury, widow of E. Delafield Smith, died of pneumonia on Thursday, age 71 years. Mrs. Smith had been sick only three days.
Mrs.Smith was the daughter of Rev. Gilbert Morgan of Bradford Springs, Sumter, North Carolina. Her husband was a well-known politician and he was at one time a corporation counsel of the city of New York. He was also district attorney under President Lincoln. He died in 1878. Since that time Mrs. Smith had occupied the country home on Sycamore Avenue at Shrewsbury. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Shrewsbury Presbyterian Church. She leaves two daughters and three sons. They are Mrs. Albert D. Baldwin, Miss Charlotte E. Smith and Harold M. Smith, who live at home; Herbert B. Smith of Monterey, Massachusetts, and E. Delafield Smith, president of the Foster County State Bank at Carrington, North Dakota.
