"George R. Brown, a well known citizens, aged 67 years, died at his home five miles north of Slater, Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock, of heart trouble, and was buried at Good Hope cemetery Wednesday afternoon at 3:30.
The deceased was a native of Vinton county, Ohio, but before coming to this neighborhood had lived in the states of Illinois and Kansas. He came here from Kansas about ten years ago and purchased a small farm on which he was living at the time of his death. He was married three times and leaves a widow and seven children. The children are Mrs. Clara Tweed and Wm. R. Brown of Gridley, Kas., Lafayette, Ernest, and Misses Allie, Nita and Audry Brown of this county.
The deceased had many warm friends in the neighborhood in which he lived and his wife and children are grateful for their kindness and assistance during his fatal illness." ____________
