I.T. was husband of Mary C.Bearden,father of six children as follows,One daughter Mary Thomas D.O.B.11/2/1900,D.O.D.8/25/1901,a daughter Isabelle d.o.b.8/21/1887 d.o.d. 1/20/1900,a son Edmund d.o.b.1877 d.o.d.1927.Twins Martin VanBuren West d.o.b. 10/17/1891 d.o.d.3/7/1943.Ora Virginia West(Reynolds) d.o.b.10/17/1891, D.o.d. 10/20/1978 and Annie Pearl West (Hill)d.o.b. 3/20/1895 d.o.d. 6/14/1970 .I.T.enlisted July 19,1861 at Columbus Mississippi,was a Private in Company C,48th Miss Infantry, Army of the Confederate States of America. His military records indicate he was in several skirmishes. After his military service he was a farmer near Doddsville Ms. where he owned 320 acres of land.(1/2 of section 23.upon his death he left this land to the four children that were living. They were swindled out of it by a crooked Uncle ,husband of Josephine Bearden. I.T. and Mary C. and Mary Thomas are buried in the West Family Cemetery on the property he had owned.
