He was the owner of Pete's Sunoco Service Station and convenience store on Philadelphia Avenue in this city for many years.
He served our country honorably in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Indiana and was discharged as 100% disabled. His memberships include Victor McAnney Post 5341 VFW, Rudolph Elmer Post 158 American Legion, Kickapoo Lodge Improved Order of Redmen, Italian American Club and the Brothers of Italy in Hammonton. He attended St. Nicholas Church.
Pete was preceded in death by his five brothers and three sisters; his former wife and friend, Rose Guerrieri Barbetto Orlando on Nov. 3, 2011.
He was survived by his daughter, Julia Barbetto; son, Pete Barbetto Jr.; grandson, John Bianchini Jr. and his wife, Melissa; great grandson, Spencer; his brother, Norman Barbetto and his wife Nancy; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Services at Wimberg Funeral Home 400 Liverpool Avenue, Egg Harbor City. Burial will be held privately at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor.
