Florentine Luise Zahn born Sager was born July 26, 1824, in Gaiglitz, Kreis Regenwalde, Pommern, baptized there, and confirmed in Labun. In September 1844 she married Joachim Zahn. They emigrated in 1856, making their home here in Cooperstown, after a short stay in Cedarburg.
She had been sick for some time, until recently she developed a cough that made her weaken, and on Monday morning at one o'clock (May 7), she died at the age of 58 years, 9 months, 11 days.
She is survived by a husband and four married daughters. Four children have preceded her in death.
