After the sudden death of Jacobs'second wife
Hannah, he was left to raise his small children
with the help of his father, Private Benjamin Bonsall, linked below.His half sister Jane Bonsall Wright reported him missing and his body was not found until the spring of 1840.Jacob was murdered by another man who did not want him to see his girlfriend. He was then buried near the area where the "Authorities"found him in the spring of the next year. His sister JAne Bonsall Wright had to identify the items in his clothing.,Jacob is not buried in a cemetery. He is buried on the family farm,near a stone fence.
