CHAS. HUCHTHAUSEN, FORMER N.W. AGENT IN CITY IS DEAD
Well Known Resident of City Who Was For Many Years Station Agent Here, Passes Away

Charles Huchthausen, former local agent for the Chicago & Northwestern Ry. Co. in this city and a resident here for more than thirty years, is dead at the home of his son, William Huchthausen, south Twenty-second street. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon from the home and will be in charge of the local K. of P. [Knights of Pythias] of which he was a member.

Mr. Huchthausen, who retired from the service of the North Western some years ago was sixty four years of age and a native of West Bend. He engaged in railroad business early in life and for several years after coming here in the eighties, from 1888 to 1903 was station agent for the N.W. and later in the claim department of the road. Mr. Huchthausen spent the last three summers at Boone, Iowa returning here for the winter. Widely known through his connection to the North Western, Mr. Huchthausen was popular in the community and news of his death brings regret to large circle of friends.

He was married in 1886 at Milwaukee and is survived by his wife and two sons, William and Walter both of this city. A brother Fred and sister Emelia reside at Milwaukee and two other sisters, Mrs. J. Biederick and Mrs. T.A. Severn both in Minnesota also survive.

Mr. Huchthausen was a charter member of the local lodge of Elks, was active in the K.P. order and a member of the Masons.

John Kester [Koeser] and Mrs. Seth Meyer, who were in the city attending the funeral of the late Charles Huchthausen, have returned to their home at West Bend. Mrs. Elva Severn of Grand Meadow, Minn. and Miss Frieda Schroeder of Spring Valley, Minn. arrived in the city Saturday to attend the funeral of Mr. Huchthausen and are visiting with relatives
here.
